Joan Savoy
Joan Savoy is a working artist who practices primarily in various 2D mediums, but has also shown as a photographer and sculptor. She studied art at Skidmore College and the University of Vermont, where she earned a BA. Joan was an adjunct professor at Saint Michael's College in Vermont for 5 years, teaching painting, 2D design and art history. She earned a Master's in Special Education from Cambridge College and is a licensed Visual Arts teacher in the State of MA. Joan's been a resident at the Vermont Studio School several times and a returning resident at the Michael Mazur Printmaking Studio at the Fine Arts Works Center in Provincetown for many years. She has shown in various group and individual shows on the East Coast including the first Monumental Show at the Gowanus Memorial Artyard in Brooklyn. She was a Fellowship Awards Finalist via the Vermont Council on the Arts in collaboration with the National Endowment for the Arts. Joan gratefully resides in Columbia County.
